This morning found me laying in my bed, sketching out the plans for today.
Need to go there, talk to one guy, write some stuff there, you know, the routine stuff.
It is always good to have it all thought out in advance.
When my mind was pretty much clear on what my body had to do today, I hopped out of bed, and towards the window I walked.
Drew the curtain, all cherish like as I did so, and… hold on a minute, something was out of place. Couldn’t quite put my finger on the cause at the time.
Didn’t get enough shut-eye I figured. And yet it didn’t explain the…
Rubbing my eyes didn’t help. Yet pinching myself did do the trick.
I also had checked with the calendar, just to be sure.
‘Monday, May 8, 2017′ was staring right at my face.
“Yeah, whatever you say, smart guy” I replied to my phone, sly smile on my lips.
And so my day started.
Ah, yes. That which caught my eye. It’s quite conspicuous, that’s for sure.
A picture is worth a thousand words, as they say.
It snowed. And what’s more, the temperature dropped significantly compared to what it was yesterday.
Just when I was excited about having purchased new sunglasses, I had to wear my winter hat today, and winter shoes to match.
But it didn’t stop there.
As time went by, snow grew bigger.
How’s that for a nice sunny day in May?
Of course, I had to postpone some of the things I had planned for today, because I didn’t feel like doing them today and they could be postponed anyway. No damage done.
But as for the other things… Well, yeah… I had to bear the brunt, put my winter hat tighter and do what a man’s gotta do. Some work and what not.
It actually made me very bitter, man… did it really have to snow today? Couldn’t it have fallen on some other day? And why in May, of all months? There was plenty of time during the winter. And here I was,
By the end of the day, my legs were barking and weather didn’t help, given that later in the day snow turned to rain and it all just got messy…
Anyway, the day is long over but the bitterness still stays in the system.
And by the way, tomorrow is a big day for Russia. Tomorrow is a Victory Parade, a holiday that commemorates the victory of USSR over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.
I wonder how the bitter weather outburst will be handled to ensure the parade’s smoothness.
Someone will have to wake up very early tomorrow, real grumpy and bitter like you wouldn’t believe, and do what’s a man gotta do… No matter the bitterness.
